> > forbidden loves/ outsiders
Okay, from now on, how we deal with forbidden relationships and outsiders joining Clans is going to change. Having relationships that are disloyal to your Clan are so common now, they're not even shocking, and no one seems to ever get punished for it. Just because Bluestar was a softie (and that was only because she was a hypocrite -- she betrayed her Clan too!) doesn't mean that every leader is. Same with having loners and rogues join Clans -- Firestar's a softie and lets everyone into ThunderClan, but do any of the other leaders approve? No. They wouldn't ever accept an outsider, and even if they did take in a kit or something, they would never accept that kit as a true member of their Clan.
one leaders will punish those forbidden relationships that they find out about by a. assigning apprentice duties, b. exiling the cat to their mate's Clan, or c. exiling the cat to somewhere away from the Clans. No, this is not powerplaying, because we're telling you right now, if you get into a forbidden relationship, and you can't keep it a secret (i.e., if the cats have kits and it's found out that the father isn't a Clan member), one of these things will happen.
two of course, leaders aren't perfect, so if they were having a forbidden relationship themselves, they probably wouldn't punish themselves, and if the guilty party was their relation or something they also probably would let them off with a slap on the wrist.
three loners, rogues, and cats from other Clans that join a Clan will likely NOT be accepted by any of their Clanmates. They will experience shunning, bullying, extra duties, duties no one else wants, and will have to train longer as apprentices to prove themselves. Even then, they will probably never be trusted and likely will never get positions of any kind of stature. (In a wolfpack, they'd be considered the omega.)
four leaders do not have to accept a cat who asks to join their Clan. We're debating making 'loner/rogue/outsider joins a Clan' into a shop item that you would have to pay for, which a leader would have to accept, but until then, it is leader's prerogative. Just as a guideline, leaders would probably not accept adult or older loners and rogues, and almost never any kind of kittypet, but a stray kit found on their territory would be taken in, at least until they were old enough to fend for themselves, since the warrior code states that no cat at any time may turn away from a kit in need.
This means that if you create a bio that says something like "Fluffytail was a kittypet who then journeyed to the Clans and was allowed to join KittyClan," the bio checker would PM the bio to the leader of KittyClan and ask if Fluffytail could join. If the leader says yes, Fluffytail's bio would be accepted. If not, the bio would be rejected and the bio checker would say, "Leader of KittyClan refuses to accept Fluffytail. If Fluffytail is modified to become a kittypet, loner, or rogue, the bio will likely be accepted."
These new provisions are subject to revision within the coming days as we see how everything goes. Any suggestions/comments/questions/concerns can be sent directly to myself, at which point I'll discuss them with the other admins. These go into effect immediately.
